There are many types of music in the world at large and each of them represents many moods and emotions. Rock, soul, blues, pop, R'n'B, country, native, oldies, classical, reggae, jazz and many others are all examples of types of music. Just as colours represent emotions; like green stands for freshness, music creates emotions and also fantasies.
Blues and soul makes one think of a loved one, mostly of their partners and sometimes the person ends up crying or falls into a trance as the elderly would say but the youths would put it as fantasy or day dream. However, some of this fantasies could be in form of a plan for the future and may happen.
R'n'B and pop, most people, while listening to these type of music, they picture or fantasies about their success and achievements in a particular task. This is in form of a prediction or future intention. Classical music gives a feeling that one can or is able to sing in an opera, this in indeed a motivation and if the person has the dream of singing in the future could and should pursue their dream but their only fear is that if they would make it. Most people no longer consider what they like to do in future but whether it would bring them success is their desire.
Almighty oldies bring flashbacks of the past; whatever it is, that it is why this type of music is played as sound track in Nigerian films in the state of flashback. Do not get me wrong these oldies are sub-divided too into soul, pop, classic, rock, jazz and many other types. Soul oldies are mostly played and listened by many.
Although these types of music, music in general is a blessing to mankind. It can calm the depressed and annoyed people. It can also elevate the happiness of those who are happy. It occupies those who are bored and lonely and it also makes people sad if they want to be. Music suits every mood and it is very much romantic and makes the going smooth.
I love soul and classical oldies, It makes me feel very relaxed and I feel very inspired when ever I listen to music.
M- moving, U- understanding, S- seductive, I- inspiring, C- calming and comforting. That is what music is all about!
