Hello everyone!!

As you can probably guess I am already back in the UK and the new term at Bellerbys has begun.  Hope you all had a great Easter Break because I really had (as I promised you).

As usual it was so nice to see my dear parents, relatives and friends.  Everybody seemed very happy to see me.  I ate plenty of Russian food which is absolutely delicious and then…I went to Thailand!  So the summer arrived a bit earlier for me and my mum.

I’d been to Thailand several years before and I really fell in love with this country.  The sea is always really warm as well as the air; people are really friendly, sand is white and extremely soft.  There are plenty of different plants around and views are just breathtaking.

Last time we visited Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.  It’s quite a strange and an extremely interesting and exciting city.  Enormous skyscrapers and shopping centres, crowds of people and dreadful traffic exist quite happily next to a calm and relaxed atmosphere of Buddhist cathedrals.  One of the things that impressed me a lot was the royal palace – it was so beautiful and it seemed that absolutely everything is made of gold.

This time we flew directly to Phuket – an island that is especially popular with Russian tourists.  It takes quite a long tome to get there – about 9-10 hours.  For me it’s quite exhausting due to the fact that I can’t sleep in planes, I do not know why.  Anyway this magic island really worth it!!  It is just a pure relaxation – swim, sunbath, swim again, go for a walk along the seafront…  I gained some interesting experiences as well – Thai massage that is quite famous around the world.  The special thing about it that the masseuse only concentrates on particular parts of your body and uses her legs, elbows as well as hands, obviously.

We also tasted various tropical fruits (mangos are my favourites!) and a lot of seafood.  I have also tried some traditional dishes (for example green curry) but it seemed a bit too spicy for me (ok, not a bit…it was really spicy, even though I always asked them not to put any pepper in it.  I am afraid to think what they call spicy…)

We also saw a show called Fanta Sea – the most famous in Phuket.  It is a whole park full of different entertainments and shops where everybody can have fun and take lots of pictures.  The show itself is really impressive – traditional dancing, various tricks, acrobats and even elephants – everything was happening on one stage.  It was a bit sad to leave this wonderful country so soon but I was still happy to go back home.

As you can see the whole holidays I was having fun.  But eventually you need to pay for everything.  I arrived in England on Saturday evening.  I was quite lucky actually, because it started snowing on Sunday so several flights from Russia were cancelled.  It was so strange to see Brighton under snow.  Especially in April.  Especially when even in Russia the spring is already arrived.

On Tuesday I had my first two mock exams – Chemistry and Physics.  At that moment I quite envied those people who were studying during the break, revising calmly topic by topic so they can be quite confident the day before the exam.  But I am not at all like that.  As a consequence I had to brainstorm everything we have done since the beginning of the year – piles and piles of papers and pages of books…  At the end I was even dreaming of physical formulas and the first thing I did in the morning was revise organic reactions… At least I understand that I am crazy, that already is something…

When first two mocks were done work went a bit more smoothly, but me and my housemate still had to pass all of our time looking through notes.  And the weather was so nice outside…it’s not fair!

On Saturday I finally realised that it is all over and had a great walk breathing in the air of freedom… (Oh my God, how pathos is that!!)  Anyway we have a bit less than two months until our final exams for this year, so we will have lots of studding and revision (hopefully!) to do.  I am ready for it.  Are you?
